The animal science unit in the William H. Darr School of Agriculture supports academic and professional pursuits in agricultural fields that focus on the care, treatment and use of animals. From livestock to horses, the animal science unit blends classroom learning with hands-on experiences working with the School’s cattle and horses.

To provide you with hands-on experience working with animals, the animal science unit utilizes the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities at the Darr Agricultural Center and the cattle operations at Journagan Ranch. These facilities and others help you develop your practical agriculture skills while gaining valuable work experience.
