Admission Requirements

The Darr College of Agriculture at Missouri State accepts and encourages all students interested in pursuing pre-veterinary medicine.

To begin course work in the field of pre-veterinary medicine, you initially need to be admitted to Missouri State. Before completing 75 credit hours, you must also be admitted to a degree program. The pre-professional veterinary medicine program consists of 60-100 hours, depending on the program option you select.

You may apply to the degree program by:

  1. Visiting with a departmental advisor during office hours or by appointment to begin the application process
  2. Completing an Application to a Degree Program
  3. Making an appointment with your advisor to review your degree audit, which is a computer printout of completed and future course work needed to graduate 
  4. Obtaining your advisor’s signature on the degree application form  
  5. Visiting the department office of your designated minor, if you are adding a minor, to get the required signature 
  6. Returning the completed forms to the degree check office in Carrington 320

You may declare your major as pre-veterinary medicine by:

  1. Completing a Change of Curriculum-Advisement form available at the Academic Advisement Center, University Hall 109 
  2. Bringing the completed form to the office of the College of Agriculture, Karls Hall 201, to be assigned an advisor
