Consortium of Five Universities

Horse stable

The Consortium of Five Universities was developed to enhance food security through education. Shared resources between Missouri State University, University of Central Missouri, Northwest Missouri State University, Truman State University and Southeast Missouri State University extend the capacity of the five universities and regional community colleges. Objectives of the consortium include a wider range of specialized agriculture degrees, the training of tomorrow's agribusiness workforce and encouraging community interest in the industry.

  • Agriculture students enrolled at one of the partnering universities can take online courses; participate in research; or work an internship at any of the five institutions. The goal is to help students complete four-year degrees on time and in a way that enhances undergraduate degrees.
  • Community college students planning to obtain a four year degree will be able to take more courses at the community college level, including specialized introductory and upper level classes.
  • Community members can learn more about a wide range of agriculture-related topics through outreach programs developed by experts throughout the state.

The Consortium of Five Universities was made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
