Venus’ Looking-Glass:

  • A summer annual broadleaf weed in the Bellflower Family (Campanulaceae) that grows 6-24 inches tall
  • Has alternate heart-shaped leaves with toothed-margins that clasp the stem at their bases; stems are ridged
  • Produces 1/2 to 1 inch diameter, five-petal flowers that are blue to purple in color from the axils of the leaves
  • Native wildflower, found in gardens, landscapes, cultivated fields
  • Tolerates full sun to moderate shade
  • Not usually a serious weed problem
