Location on campus: south of Art Annex, at south end of yew hedge, just off Grand.

  • medium green, evergreen, simple, linear, spike-like leaves with fibers along leaf margins
  • leaves alternate, attached to a compressed stem with foliage height of 1-2' high and all leaves remain stiff
  • leaves semi-evergreen
  • 4-6' tall flower stalk with panicle of white flowers in late spring, early summer
  • Non-trunk-forming yucca; develops multiple offsets with age
  • requires full sun and needs dry soil; tolerant of hot areas; very cold hardy
