Annual Prickly Poppy: (pp. 382-383, Weeds of the Great Plains; not in Weeds of the Northeast)
- native prairie, range and pasture plant that can be toxic to livestock if grazed
- has blue-green, lobed, spiny, waxy leaves and stems
- grows 1-4 feet tall
- has large white flowers with paper-like petals
- not usually a serious weed problem, but an abundance in a grazed area may indicate overgrazing
