Location on campus: north of Kemper Hall, in long bed in median of drive into/out of Bear Park South.
Juniperus sabina ‘Broadmoor:’ ‘Broadmoor’ Savin Juniper
- Leaves scale-like, opposite, rounded or blunt-tipped; some leaves on young plants or older branchlets awl-like, 1/6" long with midrib on top; strong "savin" odor and bitter taste
- Male clone
- Gray-green foliage color with no purpling in winter
- Main lateral branches spread horizontally, from these there are many short branchlets that reach up, and center of plant tends to mound up" with age
- Slow growth rate
- Resistant to Phomopsis blight
