A low-growing, mat-forming annual weed in the Carpetweed Family (Aizoaceae)
Grows 2-3 inches tall, but can spread 1-2 feet diameter per plant in good soil with adequate moisture
Forms little rosettes of narrow, elongated leaves that can quickly cover cultivated soil
Each new node can form new rosette which will root into soil
Common in early planted agronomic and vegetable crops, gardens and thin turf lawns
Control: pre-emergent herbicides, cultivation, shading
