  • A low-growing, mat-forming annual weed in the Carpetweed Family (Aizoaceae)
  • Grows 2-3 inches tall, but can spread 1-2 feet diameter per plant in good soil with adequate moisture
  • Forms little rosettes of narrow, elongated leaves that can quickly cover cultivated soil
  • Each new node can form new rosette which will root into soil
  • Common in early planted agronomic and vegetable crops, gardens and thin turf lawns
  • Control: pre-emergent herbicides, cultivation, shading
