Corn Gromwell:

  • annual or winter annual with alternate, linear, pubescent leaves in the Boraginaceae (Borage) family
  • tiny white flowers in leaf axils in mid to late spring
  • found in pastures, lawns, fencerows, winter annual crops, non-crop areas
  • roots were used to make a red dye
  • has some poisonous alkaloids in plant, but not commonly cause of poisoning
