Corn Spurry:

  • winter annual or summer annual with linear leaves appearing in whorls at nodes
  • moderate branching from central stem coming from the taproot
  • branches more horizontal, with long internodes and may be sticky to touch
  • flowers tiny, white, five-petaled on long stalks from upper nodes on plant; seeds tiny and black
  • found in open turf, in moist, fertile soils, gardens, disturbed sites
