  • leaves glaucous, opposite, mostly scale-like leaves, blue-green to blue, turning purplish in winter, ground-hugging
  • many, many cultivars
  • grows 6"-2' high (depending on cultivar) and 4-8' spread
  • requires full sun to part shade, well-drained soils
  • slow to medium growth rate
  • spider mites and Phomopsis blight can be serious pests
