Location on campus: on north side of Greenwood Lab School, toward east end of circle drive

simple, linear to awl-shaped, pointed, evergreen, alternate, 1" long leaves
plant height about 4-6", spreading above ground by prostrate stems
3/4" flowers cover the plant in early spring in shades white, pink, lavender, reddish, blue, depending on the cultivar
needs full sun to part shade, well-drained soils; can tolerate dry sights, but often goes dormant in very hot conditions in summer
not competitive against weeds
