Cutleaf Nightshade:
- native, low-growing, spreading summer annual weed with small, hairy, lobed leaves (oak-like)
- grows 6-12 inches tall, but can spread to up to 2 feet wide
- flowers are small, white, 5-petaled with yellow center, followed by green globe-like berry that will eventually darken to purplish (usually--may stay green at ripening)
- found in reduced tillage summer annual crops in northern Midwest and northern plains states
- increased in population due to widespread use of herbicide that did not affect it, but being more effectively controlled now
