Location on campus: near southeast corner of retention basin at the southwest corner of Grand and National
- leaves alternate, simple, deciduous, linear-lanceolate with fine serrated margins; light green with white markings on new leaves
- stems slender, yellow-tan
- flowers non significant
- grows 6-8' tall and wide in rounded outline
- prefers full sun and moist soils
- need to prune out old wood regularly to maintain dappled foliage on new growth and slender twigs
- fast growth rate
