Location on campus: daylilies can be found in the planting beds across from, and either side of the east (main) entrance to Carrington Hall.

  • deciduous, linear, alternate, medium to light green leaves
  • foliage height is 12-24"
  • flowers yellow, orange, red, some pinks, cream and purplish; large, showy; six petals
  • flower stalks 18-60" tall, depending on cultivar
  • good for full sun to part shade; prefers well-drained, organic soils, but very adaptable
  • low maintenance once established
