- branchlets slender, more rounded, cordlike, needles slightly spreading at tips of branchlets; needles in pairs with whitish lines on them
- grows in 6-8' tall and 10' wide in a drooping mound
- fruit is a small yellow-brown cone
- prefers full sun, moist, high-organic matter, well-drained acidic soils
- medium growth rate
