Fall Panicum:
- warm-season, annual grass; also called panic grass
- has semi-spreading to upright growth habit, 1-3’ tall
- has open panicle, with flowers/seeds only toward tips of flower branchlets
- prefers deep, fertile, moist soils, but adaptable
- has deep, aggressive root system; hard to pull or till mature plants
- prefers acid and moist soils (other names for it are swamp grass and sour grass)
- is a problem in corn, soybeans, cotton, vegetables and other summer annual crops
