Flowering Spurge:

  • Midwest-native, upright-growing, unbranched (until flowering) summer annual, 2-4 feet tall
  • Tolerant of many soil types, common in pastures, roadsides, non-crop areas, sometimes in cultivated crops
  • Oval leaves are hairless and medium to bright green, hairless
  • Produces flattened clusters of small (1/4 inch diameter) white flowers
  • Plant may be toxic if ingested in quantity by livestock
  • Milky sap may irritate skin for sensitive humans
