  • leaves opposite, evergreen, ovate, entire margins, 1-3" long, 1/2 as wide
  • connate leaves (encircling stem) under terminal flower clusters
  • flowers in terminal umbels; coral red/orange, slender, trumpet-shaped; non-fragrant; flowers in mid-late spring
  • hummingbird attractant
  • prefers full sun to moderate shade; moist, well-drained, high organic matter soil
  • fast growth rate
