Spreading Orach, Halberd-leaf Orach: (pp. 252-253, Weeds of the Great Plains, not in Weeds of the Northeast)

  • Has triangular-shaped leaves with lobes pointed out or upward
  • Leaves often slightly fleshy and will have whitish-silvery coating on them (particularly when young)
  • Has upright, somewhat spreading growth habit up to 4-5 feet tall
  • Found in cultivated fields, disturbed sites
  • More common in northern midwest
  • Has larger growth, larger leaves, more whitish coating (usually) than Common Orach.
