- Annual weed with slightly to much branched, erect to ascending stems up to about 2 feet tall and wide
- Leaves are finely-divided, ill-smelling, somewhat fleshy
- Flowers are small white daisy-like flowers with yellow centers
- Found in fertile, well-drained soils, landscapes, fallow fields, urban locations, roadsides
- Similar false chamomile has larger leaves that are also finely divided and white daisy-like flowers, but the entire plant lacks a strong odor
- Can be toxic to cattle if heavily grazed, but animals usually resist grazing
