Location near campus: on the east side (along National) of the Xeriscape Garden at the corner of National and Linwood in Springfield.

• warm-season grass from southwestern U.S. and Mexico with very slender, flexible, arching, light to medium green leaves forming a mound about 12-24" tall and wide
• inflorescences is an irregular, feathery, fine-textured panicle that grows to about the same length as the leaves, so it is mixed in with the foliage
• prefers full sun, but tolerates light shade; likes well-drained soils; tolerates dry soils well
