Purple Lovegrass:

perennial warm-season grass with short rhizomes, light green to medium green, mostly smooth leaves (may be hairy on top of leaf blade at base of blade)

  • inflorescences large, spreading panicles with purplish spikelets (inflorescence similar to witchgrass)
  • found in sandy or dry soils, pastures, roadsides, non-crop areas
