Rabbitsfoot Grass: (not in Weeds of the Great Plains; not in Weeds of the Northeast)

  • Cool-season annual grass with large, very soft-hairy inflorescences--look like a rabbit’s foot
  • Leaves pubescent to only slightly hairy, medium texture, medium to gray-green
  • Grows 6-18" tall, with spreading-upright stems
  • Usually in fertile, but dry soils
  • Only found occasionally in Missouri
