Location near campus: between Foster Recreation Center and Blair-Shannon.
- native warm-season bunchgrass, with about 1/2 to � inch wide and 4-9 inch long blue-green leaves
- grows 2-5’ tall
- at tips of flowering stems, produces dangling panicles with green flattened spikelets (look like flattened feathers ▲) that turn bronze-brown as they ripen
- foliage turns tan in winter
- prefers moist soils and tolerates moderate shade
- native to Missouri
