  • also a creeping perennial spread by rhizomes
  • has similar leaves to hemp dogbane, but stems are more wide spreading, and leaves are attached more horizontally or drooping from stems
  • flower larger, bell-shaped, pinkish-white at tips of branches; fruit is pair of slender, long pods
  • more common in northern Midwest in pastures, some in reduced tillage areas
  • also toxic to livestock
