Tansy:
- creeping perennial plant with pinnately lobed, bright, dark-green toothed leaves growing 2-5 feet tall
- produces colonies by spread of creeping roots
- flowers are yellow, disk-type only, in terminal flat-topped clusters of mature plants
- plant has typical medicinal “tansy" odor
- can be toxic to livestock
- can be invasive in fertile, well-drained soils with adequate moisture
- more of a weed problem in northern U.S., Europe than in southwest Missouri
