Tufted Lovegrass:
- summer annual similar to stinkgrasss, but with larger, more open “airy" panicle inflorescences and smaller spikelets and florets; seedheads often gray-black or purplish in color
- leaf blades narrow, often rolled in on edges, and often have a tuft of white hairs at the collar region
- plants often have prostrate-spreading growth habit of foliage
- tolerates sandy, wet, and compacted soils; found in disturbed sites, cultivated fields, lawns, roadsides and riparian areas
