  • Warm-season annual weed with broad-spreading, much-branched growth habit
  • Grows about 1-3’ tall and equally wide or wider
  • Leaves, stems pale yellow-green; leaves small, lanceolate
  • Inflorescence is small, in leaf axils
  • Breaks off at ground at maturity, rolling with the wind, dispersing seed
  • Found in cultivated fields, roadsides, disturbed sites, non-crop land
  • Not as common as other pigweeds/amaranths in Missouri
