- Warm-season annual weed with broad-spreading, much-branched growth habit
- Grows about 1-3’ tall and equally wide or wider
- Leaves, stems pale yellow-green; leaves small, lanceolate
- Inflorescence is small, in leaf axils
- Breaks off at ground at maturity, rolling with the wind, dispersing seed
- Found in cultivated fields, roadsides, disturbed sites, non-crop land
- Not as common as other pigweeds/amaranths in Missouri
