- Is a native, creeping perennial that forms basal rosettes of feathery, finely divided leaves, then extends up flowering stems that are topped with flat-topped clusters of white flowers (other colors in cultivated varieties); somewhat similar in appearance to Wild Carrot
- Flowering stems grows 12-30 inches tall; foliage primarily in rosettes near ground
- May be poisonous to livestock when heavily grazed
- Prefers full sun, tolerant of hot, dry sites
- Spreads by seeds and short, creeping roots
