  • simple perennial in the Four O’Clock (Nyctaginaceae) Family with opposite, heart-shaped to triangular, smooth leaves
  • flowers are greenish to pale pinkish in terminal clusters in late summer--open in evening, close in morning
  • grows 1-4’ tall
  • prefers fertile soils--pastures, roadsides, gardens, orchards, nurseries, non-crop areas
