  • leaves alternate, simple, semi-evergreen; ovate-lanceolate and 1.5-3.5" long and 1/3 to 1/2 as wide; dark green, glabrous and rough-textured above, very gray-pubescent underneath; evergreen leaves turn purplish in winter
  • stems green to reddish brown; slender when young
  • flowers small, white in leaf axils iin spring--not too showy
  • fruit is a bright red pome, about 1/4" diameter
  • grows 2-3’ tall and 6’+ diameter in a tangled-mat forming ground cover or mass planting
  • prefers general cotoneaster culture
  • medium to fast growth rate
