Lonicera fragrantissima: Winter Honeysuckle

  • leaves simple, opposite, semi-evergreen, ovate with slight point at leaf tip; about 1-3" long and about 2/3 as wide; leaf surfaces dark green to blue green and glabrous
  • stems slender, light brown, somewhat shiny with white pith
  • flowers creamy white, about 2" diameter, very fragrant; produced in mid to late winter
  • rounded growth habit growing 6-10' tall and wide
  • prefers full sun to partial shade, soil adaptable except to very wet soils
  • medium to fast growth rate
