Woolly Cupgrass: (pp. 430-431, Weeds of the Great Plains; not in Weeds of the Northeast)

  • warm-season annual grass with upright to spreading growth habit from 1-3’ tall
  • leaves medium green, hairy on upper surface and crinkle on one side of leaf blade
  • inflorescence a branched panicle, with hairy rachis and cup-like florets/seeds with hairs at base
  • introduced from Asia and becoming more common in corn crops
