Represent the Bears

Like to win and show what you can do? Join a competitive team.

You can develop your professional skills and compete against other schools in the region.

Sponsored by the William H. Darr College of Agriculture, these teams are a great way for you to connect with other students, advance in your field and showcase your skills.

Beef Cattle Show Team

The Missouri State Beef Cattle Show Team cares for and exhibits purebred Hereford cattle from the Journagan Ranch at regional, state and national livestock shows.

Horse Judging Team

The Missouri State University Horse Judging Team competes in various national events, including the National Futurities and Reining.

Faculty advisor: Dr. Gary Webb

Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Equestrian Team

The Missouri State Equestrian Team competes in Zone 7, Region 5 of the IHSA.

Competitions include:

  • Stock Seat (Horsemanship, Ranch Riding and Reining).
  • Hunt Seat (Equitation on the flat and fences).

Major in equine science at MSU

Ranch Horse Team

The Missouri State Ranch Horse Team competes in the American Stock Horse Association (ASHA) in Ranch Horse Pleasure, Reining, Cow Work and Ranch Trail.

Soil Judging Team

This nationally recognized team competes in regional and national competitions, including the annual National Collegiate Soil Judging.

Trap and Skeet Team

The Trap and Skeet Team practices twice a week preparing for competitions throughout the Midwest and a national competition held each spring. The club also hosts the Missouri State University Invitational shoot each March.
