Bracted Plantain:
- has very slender leaves held more upright than buckhorn plantain
- inflorescence spike is longer than buckhorn plantain, and prominent leafy bracts protrude beyond flowers
- inflorescence also has conspicuous white hairs on the bracts
- found on dry, neutral to alkaline soils; can tolerate close mowing
- woolly plantain appears similar, but lacks the prominent bracts found on bracted plantain
