Koelreuteria bipinnata: Chinese Flametree, Bougainvillea Goldenraintree

• similar to goldenraintree, but vase-shaped (upright-spreading), 20-30’ tall and 2/3 as wide
• leaflets have entire, rather than lobed margins
• yellow flowers like goldenraintree, but fruit are pinkish-rose in color, instead of tan/brown
• tolerates dry, alkaline, low fertility soils--less cold-hardy than goldenraintree
• may have potential of becoming weedy from seedlings
