Producing, caring for and using plants

The study of horticulture focuses on the skills and knowledge necessary for effectively producing, caring for and using plants, grasses, fruits and vegetables. If you have a green thumb, a minor in horticulture provides you with specialized plant-based knowledge, skills and experiences.

Minor requirements

To complete a 20-hour minor in horticulture, you must complete the following courses:

Horticulture

Bachelor of Science
  1. AGP 103(3) and 104(1).
  2. Additional hours from the following to total at least 20 hours: AGN 115(3); AGP 323(3), 325(3), 333(3), 353(3), 363(3), 393(3), 441(3), 442(2), 444(3), 453(3), 511(3), 543(3), 573(3); AGR 300(3).

Restriction

Courses counting toward a major in Environmental Plant Science - Horticulture option cannot be counted toward the minor in Horticulture. (Students are not eligible to complete both the major in Environmental Plant Science - Horticulture option and the Horticulture minor.)
