Why study agriculture education at Missouri State?

  • At the completion of the agriculture education program, you will be certified to teach grades 9-12.
  • The agriculture education program blends courses from two colleges to provide you with up-to-date information and skills in technical agriculture and teaching.

  • The Darr College of Agriculture hosts annual FFA competitions, which provide you with hands-on experience working with high school students and the National FFA Organization.

The agriculture education program at Missouri State gives you a broad education in agriculture while preparing you to teach in public high schools. Our program focuses on the primary areas of animal science, natural resources, environmental plant science, economics, business and natural resources. By becoming an agriculture educator, you help foster interest in agriculture industries and build the strength of our future food, fiber and natural resource professionals.
