Program Requirements

If you are pursuing a degree in natural resources, you must meet the below requirements to be eligible for graduation. Also, you must complete the general education program, fulfill the general baccalaureate degree requirements and complete at least 125 hours of course work. The natural resources program is comprehensive, so it does not require the completion of a minor.

Natural Resources (Comprehensive)

Bachelor of Science

Major requirements (72-77 hours)

Note: 9-10 hours may double count toward the General Education requirements.

Major core (57-61 hours):
  1. Specific General Education requirements:
    1. GEP 101(2) or UHC 110(2) or AGR 301(1).
    2. BIO 101(3) and 111(1); or BIO 121(4);
    3. GLG 110(4) or GLG 171(3) or GRY 135(4) or GRY 142(4).
  2. AGB 144(4); any AGB course numbered 300 or higher (1-3); AGN 115(3), 143(3), 215(3), 216(1), 335(3), 405(3), 465(3); AGP 499(3), 581(3), 583(3), 585(3); AGR 490(1); AGS 101(3); GEO 363(4).
  3. CHM 116(4) and 117(1); or CHM 160(4).
  4. Public Affairs Capstone Experience Requirement will be fulfilled by completion of AGP 499(3).
Complete one of the following options:
Forestry option (15-16 hours):
  1. AGN 336(3), 343(4), 543(3); AGP 323(3).
  2. One course from: AGN 323(3), 345(3), 353(2).
General Natural Resources option (15 hours):
  1. Six hours from: AGN 543(3), AGP 353(3), 365(3), 370(3), 393(3), 441(3).
  2. Nine hours from: AGN 343(4), 345(3), 351(2), 455(3); AGP 323(3), 399(1-3), 453(3), 460(3); AGR 300(3), 599(1-3); AGS 102(1); any additional GEO course numbered 300 or higher(1-3); GRY 351(3).

University level requirements:
