Be the backbone of the woods

Foresters find the perfect balance between nature and society. If trees and wooded ecosystems fascinate you, forestry can be your dream job.

Why take the forestry option?

  • Study trees from the roots to the leaves, and everything in between. Courses include tree and wood science, tree care, fire management and other key topics.
  • Take what you learn in class and use it in the real world. In the Darr College of Agriculture, there are numerous facilities and resources that will elevate your learning experiences and training.
  • Develop sound management practices that will prepare you to work in areas like land management, national parks, consulting and more.

Track requirements

The forestry option requires 15-16 hours for specialization. Visit the program requirements page for a complete listing of all required courses and track options.
